DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ELECTRONIC SCORING AND SCREENING SYSTEM

Design and Implementation of electronic scoring and screening system – LITERATURE REVIEW

The presence of manual working in the Screening and scoring System in various institutions has led to a lot of students not gaining admission and the reason for this is as a result of improper marking of scores or misplacement of answer sheet or time wastage before the result are being collated manually.

Realizing this brought about the need for a computerized system of screening and scoring which will help in coordinating the basic requirement for admission, scoring and screening of each candidate, the specification of the department, computing candidate information, and eventually given a report on the admission status of each candidate.

However, this project is to build a system that will be effective and dependable to solve the problem of manual scoring and screening system

The objectives of this project are as follows:

  1. To allow easy retrieval and indexing of data about any student without wasting time.
  2. To process a large volume of data; a lot of tasks can be done by using a computer to process a large volume of data in an hour which can be done manually by five personnel for days.
  3. To minimize the number of staff; the total number of personnel required in the admission department is reduced since the computer will take their duties.
  4. Omissions and errors of scores calculation are reduced since the computer is going to handle the calculation.
  5. To conveniently store large data; Records for candidate’s register are kept in electronic form. i.e. on the computer instead of making use of big files and paper which occupy a lot of spaces.
